Port Ban, Kintyre Peninsula, Scotland

In March/ April this year, we embarked on a campervan road trip from Arran to Mull in Scotland. We had heard that the Kintyre peninsula on the mainland was beautiful and we wanted to use the campsite as an overnight stop off between the 2 islands.

The journey around the area was stunning and wild, and we loved exploring it. The campsite was well placed to tour the area, although extremely remote, however that was also one of the beauties. The views over to Jura were epic, and the facilities were excellent. We arrived slightly out of season, and it was very quiet, which I quite liked, however my husband missed the sense of atmosphere.
The bathrooms were particularly good. They felt modern and clean and quite new, with great attention to detail including sensor operated showers.
The reception hub was large and comprehensive, including a cafe, shop and campervan/ motorhome facilities, but the distance was a fair walk from the touring area, through the static caravan area.
We only stayed one night, and so we didn’t feel we absorbed the comprehensive experience, but the reviews of the sight are excellent.
